Facebook Re-Targeting

Facebook Re-Targeting

Facebook Re-targeting, How Does it Work?

Tl;Dr – Re-targeting is a form of digital advertising that can help you keep your brand in front of bounced traffic after they leave your website.

For most websites, only 2% of web traffic converts on the first visit. Re-targeting is a tool designed to help companies reach the 98% of users who don’t convert right away.

Here’s how it works:

We place a small, unobtrusive, invisible piece of code on your website (this code is sometimes referred to as a Facebook pixel). Fear not, it is completely invisible and will not affect your website’s performance. Every time somebody clicks onto your site, the code drops an anonymous browser cookie. Later, when your cookied visitors browse their Facebook Feed, the cookie will let Facebook know when to serve ads, ensuring that your ads are served to only to people who have previously visited your site using the pixel which is set up in your Facebook Business options.

How To Get The Best Results From Re-targeting?

Re-targeting is a powerful branding and conversion optimization tool, but it works best if it’s part of a larger digital strategy.

Strategies involving content marketing, Ad Words, and regularly boosting Facebook Ads are great for driving traffic, but they don’t help with conversion optimization. Re-targeting can help increase conversions, but it can’t drive people to your site. Your best chance of success is using a few good tools to drive traffic and re-targeting to get the most out of that traffic.

It’s kind of like hooking a fish and then scooping that fish up with a net as well.
